Shannon Connellan

Senior Editor

Shannon Connellan is Mashable's Senior Editor, General Assignments, based in London. She has been Mashable's UK Editor (and still manages the illustrious UK team) and Australia Editor, but emotionally, she lives searching for Exit 8. A Tomatometer-approved critic, Shannon writes about entertainment, tech, social good, science, culture, and Australian horror, and loves to nerd out with movie stars, filmmakers, and TV creators.

Shannon regularly runs the gamut on topics from space trash to Lyonel Baratheon, the best shows on TV, saying 'hi' in Heartstopper, the rise of drag on Twitch, Bridgerton and the 'yearnaissance', FBI-foiling iPhone modes, aliens, Riz Ahmed's TV show, Viking teeth tattoos, impeccable sound design, Big Tech outages, the Creel House, Malala Yousafzai's book club, Australian feminist noir, meditation apps, knitwear on Only Murders in the Building, climate change docs, Mars mission launches, Keanu Reeves' graphic novel, Uber Boat, Steve McQueen docs, sustainable design, non-dinosaurs, must-read books, and reviewing retro-magical tech.

Historically, Shannon's encouraged people to dig into every morsel of their cities as Managing Editor of Concrete Playground, and she used to force people listen to her music taste at New York's East Village Radio and Sydney's FBi Radio, where she produced and presented shows, ran the office, and edited the blog. She's also written for every street press that would pay her in Fast and the Furious tickets, and she works in a bookshop where no paperback is safe.
